Rehearsals, Recordings and Revelry
Well, considering that at one point the band looked as likely to get off the ground as BBCPorn, we’ve come a long way in a short time. Only a few rehearsals in with the new line-up and we’ve already mastered (more or less, ahem) all the initial cover versions we chose to get us going. And we’ve now added a few more to expand our setlist and our range. Suggestions are always welcome – just drop us an email using the link to the left and we’ll do our best. As long as it’s not along the lines of previous requests like Sugababes, Abba or Right Said Fred…
We’ve also had a lot of questions lately about when we’re going to play our next gig. Well, unfortunately nothing is confirmed at this time. It’s proving harder than we thought it would be to secure a place at any venue. Our emails to the more likely candidates tend to disappear into a deep, dark void with little or no response and a lot of other places quite rightly won’t even consider a band without a proper demo disc (we’re trying to get that sorted out – see below). However, we’re trying to organise a night at our old launching ground The Vale in Glasgow and we’re currently on the lookout for another band or two to help us fill out the programme. If you’re interested give us a shout. We’re also hoping to launch some of our new material on the unsuspecting public at this night although this may just be in acoustic form.
Talking of new material, Brian and I are still battering away trying to come up with original songs that will benefit the band and define our sound. It’s still all up in the air at the moment but (very rough) demos of these new songs can usually be found on our Bebo or MySpace websites. We’d like to hear what you think of them.
Finally, we have an exciting opportunity to get into the studio at the end of the month and cut our first proper disc. We can then shop this around venues and hopefully secure a gig or two in the near future. We’ll also no doubt feature them on our other websites too so look out for that.
Updates on here will be more regular now so check back whenever you can…
